The Getting To Zero Euthanasia is a national initiative of the Animal Welfare League of Queensland which is designed to provide resources for pounds and shelters who consider that it is an ethical imperative to pursue all available options to save or rehome homeless pets as opposed to utilising euthanasia as a default position.
As some of you might know, I'm a dog Photographer but I'm first of all a dog lover. I have adopted 4 dogs in my life from shelter. Today I have 2 that are still alive and well. I love my dogs. And I love people who think about ADOPTING instead of buying or even forking thousands of dollars for a breed. Dogs are not products. Millions die each year in shelters. And now I know thousands will be left behind with the "moving" months approaching here in Montreal.
This video is an amazing concept from Sydney Dogs & Cats Home to promote adoption. A team of talented photographers gave their time and talent to build a unique project and raise funds for this Shelter.
Let's hope this kind of message spreads as far as possible...
